The Internet site at www.swisspolice.ch is meant to serve as a point of communication between the police and the public, with hyperlinks referring to the Websites of cantonal and municipal police forces. Designed by the Conference of the Cantonal Police Commanders of Switzerland and maintained by the Investigation/RIPOL section, a section of the Federal Office of Police, this site made its first appearance on September 15, 1999. Conditions for the publication of a "wanted" notice:

Once a case has been disposed of, the cantonal authorities immediately notify the Federal Office of Police in writing, which then removes the "wanted" notice from the Website. Requests for publication and removal of a "wanted" notice must be sent exclusively to: |
